I finally figured out how to use the the imperfect subjunctive in Spanish. This allows me to say things like "If I were not hungover, I would have cleaned the house." It's also a conceptual springboard to using some of the more bizarre tenses. I am really excited (or crazy)!

Personally, I have always appreciated the imperfect subjunctive -- in any language.
